Transit Weekday Span of Service
Updated Using 2022 Data

Transit weekday span of service is the number of hours that transit service is provided on a typical weekday. It accounts for the number of hours between the time service begins and the time service ends for an average weekday.

Methodology

Methodology: Transit Weekday Span of Service

This indicator is determined by computing the number of hours between the values reported in the NTD for the average-weekday time service begins and the time service ends. For transit agencies with more than one mode, the system total span of service takes into account the hours of operation for all modes and reports the span of hours that any transit service is provided on a typical weekday.

Calculation

`"Transit Weekday Span of Service" = (∑ "Transit Service Spans")/(∑ "Number of Transit Modes")`
