Rail Passengers
Updated Using 2022 Data

Rail passengers are the annual number of revenue-paying passengers on Florida’s interregional rail systems. Florida commuter rail operators Tri-Rail and SunRail report passenger trips in the National Transit Database (NTD). The Source Book reports their ridership in both the rail passengers measure and the transit passenger trips measure.

Methodology

Methodology: Rail Passengers

Rail passengers include persons riding on Amtrak and inter-regional transit services (i.e. SunRail and Tri-Rail). Brightline (Virgin Trains) began operations in 2018 as a privately owned and operated passenger rail service and authoritative ridership data is currently not reported.
